High Peak Borough Councils UK Shared Prosperity grant programme
We are excited to have been appointed by High Peak Borough Council to support Civil Society groups and Community Businesses (Social Enterprises) in their area to apply for grants that will support capacity building & infrastructure and help grow the local social economy.
Using our extensive experience of supporting Community Businesses and Civil Society groups we will provide support for applicants to develop their grant applications to High Peak Borough Councils UK Shared Prosperity grant programme.
Peak Innovation Community Enterprise Grant
Grant for growing the local social economy, including community businesses, cooperatives, not for profit and social enterprises.
Grants are available to existing or new community enterprises where these engage in or plan to engage in trading activity. Community enterprises may include community businesses, cooperatives and social enterprises.
Organisations that are not primarily involved in trading activity should consider applying for the Peak Innovation Community Infrastructure grant.
The purpose of this grant is to promote the growth of existing community enterprises and the creation of new social enterprises (not for profit) with an emphasis on innovation in the sector through new and improved ways of working that will boost or create turnover, improve productivity and the sustainability and innovation of enterprises.
You should also consider how investments contribute to net zero/High Peak Borough Council’s Climate Change Action Plan and national nature recovery objectives.
Expected deliverables include:
- Jobs created
- Jobs safeguarded
- New social enterprises created
- Enterprises with improved productivity
- Enterprises adopting new technologies or processes
- Enterprises adopting new or improved products or services
Evidence must be provided that the activity supported will be additional to what was previously delivered or planned.
Grant limits:
Minimum grant
£2000 (project cost at least £2,500)
Maximum grant award per organisation
£40,000 (project cost at least £50,000)
The maximum grant rate is 80% which means that enterprises must find 20% of funding for the project from other sources.
Peak Innovation Community Infrastructure grant
Grant for Investment in capacity building and infrastructure support for local civil society/Community – Principally Capital Funding
Grants are available to registered voluntary and/or community organisations, town and parish councils.

The objective of this grant is to strengthen our social fabric and foster a sense of local pride and belonging, through investment in activities that enhance physical, cultural and social ties and amenities, such as community infrastructure. You should also consider how investments contribute to the UK Government’s net zero and nature recovery objectives and the High Peak Borough Council Climate Change Action Plan.
The funding may be used to fund community spaces, such as village halls, libraries or community centres for local civil society and community groups to use.
Expected deliverables include:
- An increase in number of individuals engaged in the local area / activity during the last 12 months
- Improved perception of facilities/amenities/accessibility
- Increased users of facilities or amenities
- Improved perceived/experienced accessibility
Evidence must be provided that the activity supported will be additional to previously delivered work/activity.
